UNSC: UN, Britain and France proposed to blacklist Jaish chief Mohammed, Azhar

The United States, Britain, and France proposed on Thursday that the United Nations Security Council blacklist the head of Pakistan-based militant group Jaish-e-Mohammad, which said it attacked an Indian paramilitary convoy in Kashmir, India. The proposal comes a day after India handed over to Pakistan a dossier on “specific details” of involvement of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) in the Pulwama.
On Wednesday, the fresh proposal was moved by the three permanent veto-wielding members of the 15-nation Security Council. The Security Council Sanctions Committee will have 10 working days to consider the fresh proposal submitted by the three members. Read More
