
A massive rainstorm in Nepal which stuck several villages accounted for deaths of at least 31 people and 400 injured.
Officials said on Sunday that there was a heavy storm in some parts of Nepal. Due to the storm, there is a large amount of damage. The official confirmed 27 people in Baras district and 4 people killed in Persa district. It is being reported that there is a very shortage of beds and blood in hospitals.
Meanwhile, armed police force and a team of Nepal Army have been deployed in flood-affected areas for relief and rescue work. The administration is engaged in dealing with the situation. Relief rescue teams are coming to different places with tents and tarpaulins. (current news)
A spokesman of the Nepal Army said that we have prepared two Mi-17 helicopters to deal with any emergency. A cargo plane has also been kept ready in Simara. 100 jawans have been deployed in the affected areas. Relief and rescue work is on. Nepal Army spokesman said that 31 people have been killed in the grip of rains and storms in Nepal, while 400 were injured.
The National Emergency Operation Centre said the injured are undergoing treatment at various health facilities. Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli expressed sadness over the loss of lives and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
In 2012, heavy rains in Nepal caused floods, in which 2 thousand houses were destroyed. In this, more than 4 thousand people were affected.
